Students Profile

Janet Baffoe

MS in Chemical Engineering

Advisor

Dr. Corey Leclerc

Janet Baffoe is pursuing her Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at New Mexico Tech. She works as a research assistant under the supervision of Professor Corey Leclerc. Janet is currently undertaking her research on maximizing conversion and stability for syngas production using Ni on Winston Zeolite and HZSM-5 catalyst via methane dry reforming. Her goal is to produce an effective Ni on zeolite catalyst that will have a higher activity, selectivity, and stability for syngas production. She firmly believes that the results of her project will significantly enhance sustainable energy production and offer effective solutions to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. Janet successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. She served as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Chemical Engineering in Ghana as part of her national service commitment to the country.

She presently holds the position of communications officer for the Graduate Student Association (GSA). In this role, she collaborates with the GSA President and the Events Officer to distribute information and manage the GSA website. Janet recently attended the Rio Grande Symposium of Advanced Materials Conference, where she presented a poster of her research work and won the award for the 1st place position.

She is a devoted Christian, and is happily married to Mr. Emmanuel Ofori, who is currently a graduate student at Ohio University.
