My Camera Equipment

A short history
My first camera was a simple 35mm with a built-in flash. My parents gave it to me back in the mid 90's. I used it sparingly and now have no idea where it might be. Many years later I thought it might be fun to take a photography class in college but I never really got into it. I didn't care much for film photography and dark room work, so I lost interest.

Fast forward several more years and things start to get a little more interesting. Digital cameras were starting to pop up everywhere and soon my roommate Frank owned one. It was a 2mp Sony and I was allowed to use whenever I pleased. Slowly I became more interested in owning one of my own. Then it happened, I finally found a need to own my own camera. On a late afternoon in August of 2003, I was riding back from Albuquerque with Frank and we saw am awesome site. A storm was to our west but it was unlike anything I have ever seen. It was a blood red wall of rain that was covered in surface lightning. I asked Frank if he had his camera with him and he said he always leaves it at home. Later that week I spent what little money I had on a brand new Nikon Coolpix 2100 and have carried it with me ever since.

By late 2005, I started to become more interested in digital photography and saw a need for a more capable camera. I did much research and finally decided on a Nikon Coolpix 5700. This was an SLR-like camera without the DSLR price. I owned the 5700 for less than a year and again I saw a need for a more capable camera. I had decided to enter the DSLR world. Again I did much research and in October of 2006 I purchased a Canon Digital Rebel XT kit with the 18-55mm lens. I had finally joined the DSLR club.
