In accordance with the decisions made at the last
meeting on March 9th, we have set up groups for starting construction and
programming on
our robots. We have competed construction on the main robot body from the
kit we purchased a few weeks earlier. We have set up two main groups for
the final phases of our robot's construction. One group is concentrating
solely on the programming aspects of our robot. This group is headed by
Ben Hoover. The second group is in charge of testing for sensors on our
robot, and is headed by Jonathan Andrews. Below is a list of most of our
members who are able to donate some time for construction. If you are
interested in helping out, or have any ideas that you would like to
present, please contact the head of each group. Once you have set up
something with your group leader, you can contact the other members of
your group to arrange a meeting time.

We are planning on entering our robot
into a contest at Trinity University in April. The Trinity University
link is listed below. We are also constructing several robot kits to
sell to high schools and other organizations (see link below for more
information). These kits not only serve
as a profit venture, but also to introduce younger generations to
robotics. If you would like to join the robotics
club, or would like information on construction times, please email the
robotics club at robotics@ee.nmt.edu
We are planning on having our next meeting on
Thursday March 9th at 7pm in Workman 101. Everybody is invited to come
join us.
For the Robotics club, John Sinnott is willing to help
people with learning
about the coding. He is willing to sit down with a group of people
and
teach some basic coding, as well as go over any code already
written for
the robot and explain what it all does.
You may want to contact him set up something
like that
with him:

If you would like to work on our robot, you can also stop by and
talk to Julie Johnson, Dr. Wedeward, or Dr. Bruder. Their offices are on
2nd floor Workman Julie Johnson's office(south -noninterior- side),
Dr. Wedeward's office (2nd floor Workman north -noninterior- side, 4th
from west), Dr. Bruder's office (2nd floor, same side, 2nd from east), or
the lab where the kits are assembled (2nd floor, north -interior- side,
1st door on left from east), and someone will let you into the lab to work
on the robots.
