Membership and Opportunities
Anyone interested in robotics is encouraged to visit the club.
There are no regular meetings planned [yet], but please feel free
to contact robotics@ee.nmt.edu.
To become a member of the robotics club, just attend our meetings
every now and then. You can also sign up on our SA club member list
which we will try to have available at our events. We should also
have a booth on club fair day in the SUB.

Low Cost (<$50) Microcontroller Kit (preliminary)

Preliminary kit contents with pricing estimates (note that
none of this is currently offered - it is still in the planning
stage):
- Wall transformer ($10)
- 5, 12, 13.5V power supply with current limiting ($10)
- Basic board for PIC:
- PICmicro microcontroller with ADC ($6)
- Access to every pin
- In circuit programming
- [Controllable] Oscillator
- Add on board:
- 1 of n decoding (to select registers and latches)
- Expanded IO with registers and latches
- R-2R ladder for digital to analog conversion
- Opto-isolators on some inputs and outputs
- LED 7-segment display
- LED bar graph display
- Anticipated software on a CD ($1 for media cost):
- Linux and DOS/Windows C and/or assembly compilers
- Linux and DOS/Windows software to access the programming hardware
- CD with datasheets and application notes for the PICmicro (permission
needs to be granted from Microchip to do this)
