This will be the first robotics seminar series of the year! We hope that it will attract people hungry for robotics tips, tricks, and knowledge. This lectures only theme is robotics for people just getting started.
The speakers are asked to present something that they find interesting that can be related to robotics. This can range from power supply design techniques, to control systems, to showing real life data of robots in action (perhaps showing oscillation in wall following robots), to computer algorithms applied to robotics, to speaking about a particular component used on robots (such as distance sensors, or light dectors like IR diodes or Hamamatsu's sensors), to explaining stability of control systems, to artificial intelligence. Presentations should be targeted for an audience of beginner roboticians who have a passion for robots deep in their mind but are looking for information to help their ideas become reality. Please plan to present material for 5 minutes to 20 minutes with some additional time for questions.
The speakers are also asked to please submit a copy of their textual and graphical presentation materials in one or more of the following formats: Adobe PDF, Postscript, or html. (Postscript and/or PDF produced with LaTeX would be close to ideal but not necessary). The robotics club would like to post these formats with recognition of the author on the website for future access by all. If html files are submitted, please make sure graphics are in jpg, png, or gif format. Do not let the document format get in the way of your presentation. If need be, the PDF, Postscript, or html format can be generated after the presentation.
For presenting, the TCC computer should be available and an overhead projector will be provided. If you want to bring a computer, I believe there are additional hookups availble for it.
If you have any suggestions, complaints, questions, or other comments, please contact robotics@ee.nmt.edu. Thank you!
