• techniques for finding all voltages and currents in any interconnection (network) of circuit elements

Course Prerequisite: Math 132 (Calculus and Analytic Geometry II)

Required Text: "Elementary Linear Circuit Analysis, 2nd ed." by Leonard S. Bobrow

Topics:

1. Charge, current, voltage, sources, resistors, instantaneous power, and Kirchhoff's Laws (chapter 1)

2. Nodal and mesh circuit analysis techniques (chapter 2)

3. Operational amplifiers, Thevenin's Theorem, and Norton's Theorem (chapter 3)

4. Inductors, capacitors, and functions (chapter 4)

5. First-order circuits (chapter 5)

6. Second-order circuits (chapter 6)

7. Sinusoids and complex numbers (beginning of chapter 8)

Homework: Homework will be assigned, collected, and graded on a weekly basis. You are encouraged to work with other students so long as the written work turned in is your own.
