References (other textbooks commonly used):
Prerequisites: EE 101 (Introduction to Electrical Engineering)
and Math 132 (Calculus & Analytic Geometry II)
Objective: Develop an understanding of
- general behavior and mathematical representation of circuit
elements (resistors, inductors, capacitors, independent and dependent
sources, and ideal operational amplifier); and
- techniques for finding all voltages and currents in any
interconnection (network) of circuit elements.
Topics: Selected from chapters 1-9 of text.
Grading:
- Homework: 15%
- In general, assigned every other class period.
- Collaboration is encouraged, but the work turned in
must be your own.
- Neatly show all work for full credit; write on only one
side of paper; staple multiple pages together.
- Due at beginning of class; accepted up to one day late for
a 20% reduction in score.
- Three Exams: 60%
- Exam 1 scheduled for M 09/26/2011
- Exam 2 scheduled for W 10/19/2011
- Exam 3 scheduled for M 11/21/2011
- Final Exam: 25%
