Course Description:
Space vehicles are key enablers for a variety of applications that range from
learning about our own planet to unlocking the mysteries of space. Monitoring
changes of our planet earth using satellites, landing on Mars with a rover to
explore the unknown, or performing deep space exploration with probes that
communicate findings back to earth, are only a few of
those applications.
In this course, you will get exposed to key components that make space
exploration possible. The common components of space vehicles such as
satellites, robots, and space probes are control, actuation,
communications and remote sensing. You will gain exposure to these
concepts using a project-based approach with weekly activities that culminate in
a final project founded on integrating the state-of-the-art in space applications.
